I should have waited until the next book in the series was completed - because now I am impatiently waiting for it. This is a great book with my favorite kinds of sci-fil/apocalyptic/conspiracy theories all rolled up into one suspenseful novel. Fun, well-developed characters (except maybe the federal "good guys"). I like the premise in this book. It is an interest take on a dystopian world. The characters a free vivid and the background material well presented.
Great read, keeps your interest all the way through. A little heavy on the science, and not having a Doctorate in Astronomy, I have to trust that the author was accurate. -). Interesting premise, all too believable really about the government’s response to the threat.
Highly recommend if you like sci-fi, conspiracy, or just plain great entertainment!
This has been a very good read. Well written, but not overwinter The caracters were all believable, like you could imagine this happening to good people. That's how good books are wriiten. I can't wait for book 2. If you like potential end of the world book, yet am tired of bombs or emps, read this one. Thanks for the great read, Lee.
Good story. Liked the characters. I would have rated it 5 stars but it was a little heavy on religion & bible prophecy.
‘The Rogue’ is a fine well-plotted, well researched, and well-written work of fiction based on what in many people’s minds has become a real Paradigm Clash in Science—particularly in Cosmology, Planetary Science, Astronomy, Theoretical Physics and related disciplines. In the novel, a discredited dark philosophy has firmly rooted itself and it has all of the trappings of Dogma, Blind Belief, and disdain for heretics that we associate with the Inquisition. For us today the darkness of hypothetical Black Holes, dark energy, dark matter, and a disconnected meaningless philosophy of the Universe is already here. In the novel, this dark, twisted ‘Science’ has Government support and funding so that cover-ups, detainment of Scientists who disagree, and questioning of Scientists by Government Security Agencies, loss of legal rights, and imprisonment for heresy form part of the fabric of this thought-provoking book, the first of a series. There are soundly based positive experimentally proven alternatives to the dark philosophy that we can point to today, Plasma Cosmology, and The Electric Universe, are examples, but it seems that for us and for the characters in the novel an Abandonment of the Light of Electricity, Electromagnetism and Plasma in favor of the Adoration of The Dark has taken over many minds. The heroic efforts of a few of the characters form the spark of hope here that Humanity can rise above the Dark. A question that is posed here is what can such a dark path lead to? The implication of Oblivion and Apocalypse is an obvious answer. I can’t
wait to read the next book in this series. Two thumbs up and Five Stars!
How disappointed I was when I reached the end of the wholly believable and simply terrifying book only to discover that no sequel was waiting for me. This book was so terrifying in that if we opened our doors in the morning, we could actually find this occurring. Because it is already happening. Our every word is overheard and listened in on by our government. The day is soon arriving that we must tow their line or be arrested not only for our core beliefs but also thrown into prison for simply not being one of the government's ignorant and blind steeple. God's work is never done and we will never know when we will be called upon or what we will be asked to do. But we must be ready. The so-called science fiction is a very real life scenario that may pop up tomorrow. All of the science within is very easy to understand and very true. Enjoy this great read. I am waiting eagerly for the next installment of this tale.
A very thought provoking read. Yes there are some biblical leanings but I expected that just from the excerpt/ description for the book, so that was not any surprise. In fact it is leading into the some of the real premises of the book, conspiracy , hard science, physical mysteries of the cosmos and God. One doesn't have to be be ignored for the other to be true, science and religion are intertwined not separate, one or the other, you can believe in both. I feel like this book set the groundwork for an increasingly complex read. The characters are developed and believable. Now when is the next book coming out? There is no author page or web link to reference or "follow" for future books which is somewhat frustrating as I want to watch for this writers next books.
